Starting from September, street lights in this country will be gradually replaced with LED lights, saving 50% of electricity.

Malaysian Housing and Local Government Minister Zuraida pointed out that from September, street lights across the country will gradually be replaced with LED bulbs to save 50% of power.

According to "The Star" report, nearly 80% of street lights in Malaysia use ordinary light bulbs, not LED light bulbs, which are more energy-saving and environmentally friendly.

She pointed out that the bidding process will end in June, after which three months of trial work will be carried out in Anbang.

"If the trial work goes as planned, then we will implement the scheme nationwide from September."

Zuraida said the ministry will also explore the installation of closed circuit television (CCTV) in specific places to combat criminals and arrest people who litter.

"This project will also start from Ampang and then be implemented throughout Malaysia. We hope that CCTV will not only reduce crime It can also prevent local people and foreigners from littering by reducing the crime rate. ”

She said the ministry will also explore replacing signs on shops and buildings with LED lights.
